Driving to Arkansas I saw this scene from the highway. As usual the camera was not handy- but even if it had been in my hand this fleeting second would have been impossible to capture! This rendition of a Longhorn seeking relief from the heat and the flies is from memory, done in straight seam piecing from commercial fabrics and machine quilted.
