Bignonia was inspired by a photo I took of this patio plant over-wintering in my studio. It blooms year around for me, maybe even better inside than out!.  I chose to use curved seam machine piecing to emphasize the sinuous qualities of the plant.   The fabrics are 100% cottons, both commercial prints and hand dyes.  The free motion machine quilting's organic lines are done in various threads to compliment the subject and the chosen fabrics.
