So, I was sitting at The Topeka Art Guild making out my entries for the next show and I hear:<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s awful. I don\u2019t like that painting.\u201d The woman with him said \u201cIt\u2019s not a painting; it\u2019s quilted.\u201d<\/p>\n

THAT got my attention.<\/p>\n

\u201cWell it\u2019s terrible and I don\u2019t like it.\u201d \u201cWhy not?\u201d she asked.<\/p>\n

\u201cWell, just look at it. It\u2019s a picture of a cow jumping off a hill into broken glass. A cow wouldn\u2019t do that. It\u2019s no good and I don\u2019t like it.\u201d<\/p>\n

I couldn\u2019t help it. \u201cIt\u2019s a splash,\u201d I said, \u201cIt\u2019s water.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWell it looks like broken glass to me, and I don\u2019t like it!\u201d<\/p>\n

The old curmudgeon was thankfully on his way out and I wanted to shout after him- \u201cYou are entitled to your own opinion even if you are full of sh–!\u201d But of course, I didn\u2019t.<\/p>\n

The guy sitting across from me said, \u201cI guess when you are 92, you can say anything you want.\u201d<\/p>\n

You gotta love old men.<\/p>\n
