While you cannot fault the workmanship on the judge&#8217;s choices, I felt that there was a definite slant to the traditional this year and I was not interested in looking at most of them. I had nothing in the contest this year, my entry, Longhorn Splashdown would have been in Art Quilts &#8211; Pictorial had it been juried in.\u00a0 The quilt that won second in that category was one of my favorites, but most of my favorites were not prize winners, so are not shown.<\/p>\n<p>Friday evening was the opening reception for the &#8220;Inspirations&#8221; exhibit at The Classic Bean in Topeka.\u00a0 I arrived home at 3:45 from Texas, changed clothes and after a short visit was gone again to be there by 5.\u00a0 My piece, &#8220;Colorado Kids&#8221; looked great! This is the exhibit that is a collaboration between photographers and artists, mostly paintings, but there were some digital manipulations of photographs as well as one other quilted piece on display. A nice exhibit to see if you are in the area.
