{"id":170,"date":"2008-09-14T07:07:11","date_gmt":"2008-09-14T12:07:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ruthpowersartquilts.com\/weblog\/?p=170"},"modified":"2008-09-14T07:07:11","modified_gmt":"2008-09-14T12:07:11","slug":"good-mail-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ruthpowersartquilts.com\/weblog\/?p=170","title":{"rendered":"Good mail day"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>My sewing today was interrupted by the arrival of the mail and it was a good mail day!\u00a0 There was a nice fat check from Mancuso\u00a0 for a first place win for \u201cWatermelon Wine\u201d at The PA National, and the package of Merino roving that I got on Ebay to learn to spin with.\u00a0 The check was a surprise as I had not heard that I had won anything.\u00a0 The quilt is not home yet.<\/p>\n<p>I had to take a break from the poppy to try out the new wool. It is definitely easier to spin than the dog\u2019s hair!\u00a0 But still not EASY!\u00a0 I got some books at the library the last time I went to town and I must sit down and read about how to do this now that I have the materials to work with. I\u2019m sure with practice it will become less awkward.<\/p>\n<p>The sun finally came peeking through today for brief intervals and I made the rounds to check on the new plantings. Everything is looking good.\u00a0 In a few days perhaps it will be less sodden out there and I can do some more gardening work.<\/p>\n<p>Between other stuff I did manage to get one half of the poppy completed.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ruthpowersartquilts.com\/weblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/09\/poppyprogress3.jpg\" title=\"poppyprogress3.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ruthpowersartquilts.com\/weblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/09\/poppyprogress3.jpg\" alt=\"poppyprogress3.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Well, barring any changes that is!
