It is heavy and wet and much appreciated for the moisture that we so badly need.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ruthpowersartquilts.com\/weblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/winterwonderland.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2328\" alt=\"winterwonderland\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ruthpowersartquilts.com\/weblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/winterwonderland.jpg\" width=\"450\" height=\"338\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.ruthpowersartquilts.com\/weblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/winterwonderland.jpg 450w, https:\/\/www.ruthpowersartquilts.com\/weblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/winterwonderland-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 450px) 100vw, 450px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Yes it is pretty, but perhaps not so much for those who have to deal with it up close and personal! For me, I&#8217;m staying inside because I can!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ruthpowersartquilts.com\/weblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/hungrybirds.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2329\" alt=\"hungrybirds\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ruthpowersartquilts.com\/weblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/hungrybirds.jpg\" width=\"450\" height=\"361\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.ruthpowersartquilts.com\/weblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/hungrybirds.jpg 450w, https:\/\/www.ruthpowersartquilts.com\/weblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/hungrybirds-300x240.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 450px) 100vw, 450px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The birds appreciate the feeders. This one is only a few inches away from the window by my sewing machine so I am treated to their antics all day long.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking of windows, the new ones were installed just before the first storm hit and the workers will have to come back when the weather warms up to paint the outside trim that had to be replaced. Inside, I am slowly getting things back in order. I&#8217;ve washed\u00a0 and ironed the curtains and rehung those, and got the furniture back in place. I am working on cleaning all of the venetian blinds so they can be donated to\u00a0 the ReStore since the new windows have blinds inside the panes of glass.\u00a0 Hopefully these will be the last blinds I will ever have to clean!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ruthpowersartquilts.com\/weblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/cardinalinsnow.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2331\" alt=\"cardinalinsnow\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ruthpowersartquilts.com\/weblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/cardinalinsnow.jpg\" width=\"450\" height=\"338\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.ruthpowersartquilts.com\/weblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/cardinalinsnow.jpg 450w, https:\/\/www.ruthpowersartquilts.com\/weblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/cardinalinsnow-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 450px) 100vw, 450px\" \/><\/a>Waiting his turn.<\/p>\n<p>I sewed most of yesterday, having given up on the right fabric, and I am struggling to &#8220;make it work&#8221; as Tim Gunn would say.\u00a0 It is so not what I had envisioned.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Yesterday we awoke to a winter wonderland; about six more inches of snow on top of the 11 inches that was already there.
