This was beginning to go there!<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ruthpowersartquilts.com\/weblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/GiantSwallowtail.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-3528\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ruthpowersartquilts.com\/weblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/GiantSwallowtail-300x220.jpg\" alt=\"GiantSwallowtail\" width=\"300\" height=\"220\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.ruthpowersartquilts.com\/weblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/GiantSwallowtail-300x220.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.ruthpowersartquilts.com\/weblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/GiantSwallowtail.jpg 450w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I started a new one, of my late Komondor, Griffin.\u00a0 I used mask to define the edges of some of his cords and let the background wash flow down into that area to give depth and shadow. After lifting some of the color and softening the edges of the masked area, I am ready to attempt the definition of the cords. My instructor, Ye, said &#8220;Oh, another complicated one!&#8221; I think he does not quite know what to do with me!<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ruthpowersartquilts.com\/weblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/griffWatercolor1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-3529\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ruthpowersartquilts.com\/weblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/griffWatercolor1-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"griffWatercolor1\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.ruthpowersartquilts.com\/weblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/griffWatercolor1-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.ruthpowersartquilts.com\/weblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/griffWatercolor1.jpg 450w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I also finally made my offering for this year&#8217;s SAQA\u00a0 12 x 12&#8243; Benefit Auction.\u00a0 The deadline is coming up so I decided this year to forego my usual pieced format and go with a whole cloth hand dyed piece.\u00a0 When I first saw this piece of fabric, I saw within it, a woodland scene.
