Miss Me?

It’s been a heck of a week! Here’s the short version: Going to town last Friday, the car malfunctioned but since it was still going and we had a dog with us and it was hot we continued on to town. We totally ruined the braking system and had to have the car towed to the garage. They didn’t get to it until Tuesday when we found out that it was going to be quite expensive and a week and a half before it could be fixed. Long story short, we bought another car!

Then, later that same day my husband fell and after about 8 hours in the ER he was admitted to ICU with spinal cord trauma- nothing broken, thank goodness. Yesterday he was transferred out of ICU and will probably come home today with a neck brace for three weeks. Then they will decide if he will need surgery.

Needless to say, I have not started the Elk yet!

    Ruth,
Oh dear! My best wishes for a quick recovery for your husband, and, to ease your stress, etc., I think you need to get started on the elk! Take care. Loretta

Sorry to hear about your horrible, no-good day! Hope hubby is feeling better. I rolled down my driver-side window the other day and it hit something inside the door and shattered in my lap. Got a new window and now need to get the inside of the door fixed also. I agree with Loretta, get busy with some quilting! I’m cutting up scraps this evening so I don’t have to tidy in my quilt room.

Sending good thoughts for a better week ahead… and progress on the elk.

OUCH!!! Is that a ‘when it rains, it pours’ story??? Hope all goes well with the injury healing and you get to work on the elk.

I’m sitting out on the deck with my fairly new laptop, which I have not used since returning from Denver. Discovered that the battery went totally dead and now I am supposed to calibrate it which means I have to run it dead again and recharge it. Thought I would blog, but can’t figure out how to do it here. I think I can do a comment though.

My husband is doing well but is of course quite bored! I am finding out how much he really did for me before, which made it possible for me to do the quilting things that I love to do. I have been so busy doing all of the routine things, cooking, cleaning, even cleaning the pump and filters for the fish pond that I have had very little time to sew.

I did get the pattern for the elk done and started sewing on Sunday but have not had much time to devote to it. Pictures tomorrow, maybe.
