More Houston
Here’s where I spent most of my time in Houston. Gloria Hansen stayed with me at the Hyatt and she took lots of pictures, including this one. It was fun to get to know her better, to put faces to names, to meet up with old friends and make new acquaintances at the various events. It was quite an experience, being one of the top winners and getting the royal treatment. There were so many people to talk to!
The ribbon is beautiful and we each got a matching little one to wear so that wherever we went we were recognized as a winner. Such attention to detail. Even the flowers matched the quilts they were by. Mine had big beautiful roses and lots of orchids, dried oak leaves, iris and hydrangeas reflected colors in the quilt.
I left my seat a few times to check out other displays and do a little shopping. I did not manage to cover the whole vendor area due to the crowds and when my bag got so heavy I was concerned about my luggage being overweight, I called it quits. I did manage to leave some money behind though. Here ia some of the fabric I bought with various future projects in mind.

Ruth — it was so wonderful to see and your absolutely fabulous quilt. The accolades are totally deserved. Best of luck with the new fabrics.
