Progress
Quite a few more seams are sewn and I found this neat batik for the legs that looks sort of scaley. The bird is starting to moosh into the background so I need to get some more contrast going on.
This dark batik helps a lot. Nature wants to camouflage everything but in art— not so much! It also helped to tone down the black on the bird. So much to think about!
It is STILL raining!

He’s/She’s looking great! I love hearing your analysis of your fabric choice process. I also am interested in your ability to objectively critique your progress to make necessary changes, subtle sometimes, but necessary. Thank you for sharing.

The fabric choices make it or break it. You have to be willing to do some unsewing. It is not unusual for me to cut a piece out of several fabrics before deciding on one – and I always hope that I can make the right decisions before the seam is sewn, but sometimes that doesn’t happen.
