Nativity Sets
Last Sunday was Epiphany Sunday commemorating the arrival of the Three Wise Men to Bethlehem and we had a display at church of about 150 personal Nativity sets of varying size and design loaned by members. Here are only a few:
Mine is ceramic made by me. I poured the slip, cleaned up the figures and did the detailed painting and antiquing over 50 years ago. It was one of the larger sets, but not the largest. After seeing all of the others, I decided mine needs a stable.
This one was unique in that it is all one piece.
This one is made of horse shoe nails.
This one was hand carved from Olive Wood in the Holy Land.
Some were teeny-tiny – the smallest being made of pewter and set in a jewelry box.
All in all a very beautiful display which drew visitors from as far away as the KC area!
