Springtime
These are just a few of my daffodils that came through high winds, freezing temperatures and even snow, such a tough and cheerful flower! They did look a bit bedraggled, but quite good considering! I need to get the mulch spread, perhaps today, as it should be up to sixty degrees later.
The reupholstery project is finished and since it is going to be a very nice day, maybe I will get the furniture out of storage today and set up the deck for use. I’ll be ready to enjoy it after I spread that mulch!
Yesterday’s mail brought news that “Lazy Afternoon” will be going to the Mancuso’s Denver show at the end of April and I shipped “Chicory” off to AQS on Monday. Guess I need to update my website! One of these days, I will be caught up enough to get back to creating. There is a bluebird quilt wanting to be made….

I am going to Nita’s Tuesday and if you bring out your patio furniture, will you jinx the weather by summoning a blizzard??? Sure hope not!!! I’m interested in your ‘planned’ bluebird quilt. We have lots of bluebirds here in our yard. Our six houses stay full of babies as batch after batch hatch and fledge. Congrats on the quilts traveling here and there so more can see and appreciate your unique talent. Gwynette

Not to worry- with threats of cold and rain for Sunday I decided to wait on putting out the furniture. Besides after spreading the mulch I was not up to another project and we just sat on folding chairs for a bit.
Are your bluebirds there already?

They are here all winter and come in closer to the house more often when it’s cold, although they zip about the yard all summer. Have an arbor by the back door that they like to sit on and flit back and forth to their houses. They are starting their nest building. I asked Dianne, the program chair for our guild if I was too late to sign up for your two day June workshop and thankfully, I’m not. I’m headed to MO tomorrow for a couple of days then to Nita’s. The girls are saying bring warm clothes. Maybe the lawn furniture has nothing to do with the weather!!!!
