Bee Balm
I’m so glad you are back Gwynette – who knows the ways of computers! Not me!! But I did miss you.
Rose, yes I DO have bee balm. I love it for being so robust and reliable and I’m sure it will also end up in the lower border eventually. I’m thinking combined with some Russian Sage which is also blooming now, but not close to the bee balm yet.

Mine is the variety “Raspberry Wine” shown here at the edge of the shade garden. It is in a couple of sunny locations too, doing equally well. I also have some of the wild lavender kind.

Speaking of wild, this wonderful very double daylily grows wild around here. Isn’t it lovely? I think it rivals some of the expensive new ones.

Well, Ruth, it’s good to be back… I missed looking at your wonderful pictures… dumb @@&&*$% computers anyway!! Yours was absolutely the only site I could not link too… thought I had worn out the link!!
I have wild white bee balm in woods and I’m moving it to the flower garden next spring. I have a deep burgundy bee balm, too. It’s just making itself right at home and pretty much taking over which is okay where it’s located. I brought some of those double orange day lilies with me from MO and they are exotic looking. When Nita moved, I took some to Kansas for her, as I got the original ones from her. It was early spring when I was at your house a couple of years ago and way too cold for flowers. Maybe I’ll get to see the garden in full glory on my way to Nita’s sometime. They will be here in two weeks!! Eagerly awaiting your next inspiration piece. Gwynette

Wow – I’ve never seen white bee balm. My sister had some red and I guess I thought that was the only color it came in until I saw some lavender earlier this year. I do like the way it spreads!
