First Day
They say what you do on the first day of the new year is what you do all year – if so, I’m OK with that.
I sewed some, visited some, watched some TV, did some housework and shopping (online) and even slept a little! What I didn’t do that I should have was to get out and walk, but it was bitter cold and windy. That’s my excuse , anyway!
Made some good progress on the new fire piece and I’ve been thinking that this might be a fun one to do in different seasons. I can see it in winter colors, without the fire of course, and spring, summer and fall. too.

Looks like a good one, Ruth. It would be interesting to see the same view in all seasons. Is the triangle in the center just the background or will it be a body of water? AOL weather tells me that it is 42 in Lawrence (the closest place I can find to you), so it is surely warm enough to walk a bit. I know how difficult it is, but it is worth it not to be crippled in old age. Love, Del

Your colors are HOT, Ruth. I’ve liked every one of your ‘burning’ quilts… maybe because I’ve seen the burnings there first hand and your quilts portray the reality.

Del, that will be water in the middle, I’m waiting til the rest is done to see what the reflections will be.
I would think that you could get Topeka weather, try 66606, but Lawrence will be pretty close. I don’t think it was in the 40s New year’s day. It was misty and damp, very windy with a wind chill. Maybe I’m a wuss, but it was too cold for me.
