NW AR Coneflowers Workshop
Thanks for the nice comment Gwynette! It really was great fun for me to return to your group for a second visit. The workshop was especially fun with the delightful group of ladies that worked hard, but also had fun and started some lovely projects.

Gwynette’s coneflowers are going to be “Coconut Lime” I believe,

and we also had a “Green Envy” along with some more of the more established colors.

It is always fun for me to see everyone’s fabric choices! Karen pre pieced her backgrounds from hand dyes! Love it when folks dare to be different! More tomorrow……..

I have ordered a ‘special’ batik called spring grass. It’s mostly white with some soft green striations and I think/hope it’s exactly what I need with the other light greens to make the flower pop out from the green back ground. Still remembering the fun and your guidance for possible future ‘pieced pictures’. Thanks YOU for putting up with us!! Gwynette

Ah-ha! Now I have a picture of your friend Gwynette! Her coneflowers look as though they will be elegant. Hope she will share a picture of the finished work. Glad you are safely home Love, Del

I loved the Ah-ha!, Del. Are you sure which of the two ladies is me? I had a lot of fun with Ruth and she is very good with color. I picked her brain a lot. I’m waiting for the new white/green batik to arrive. I have a vision for my ‘green coneflowers’. Unlike some teachers, Ruth is quite willing to share her knowledge as to how she goes about pattern making and broke down the steps so a dummy like me could understand…. LOL. Bummer that you didn’t get to share your friend’s trip to Ohio. Gwynette

I’m sure the lady with the red hair is charming, but somehow I don’t think she is a Gwynette. Besides, where would she put the white/green batik? Love, Del

The red head is Miss Leanna, so you got it right and I’m not sure where she would put the white/green batik. Her thoughts about the piece was a morning sunrise through her coneflower garden. I do believe that she intends for the third or background coneflower to be some shade of green, but the white/green would be more of a foreground color. Nice to see you on Ruth’s blog. I encourage all my friends to read the blog as Ruth is inclined to share her creative process here. Trying to stay cool by staying inside and quilting today!!! Gwynette

Gwynette and Del – I’m enjoying your conversation!I second Del’s request to see finished work….

Geez, Gwynette and Del sure are chatty, aren’t they? I’m embarrassed to admit that I am one of the two (all in black to the left of the picture) standing to the side of our projects. Obviously, I was hoping Ruth was only taking a picture of our coneflowers and not the quilters . . . my bad, diet needs to kick in quicker. LOVED the workshop with you, Ruth! My friend, Therese (in orange and brown top), from Kansas City and I can’t stop talking about how much we enjoyed the two days and learning the technique. We both worked on our coneflowers some over the 4th of July holidays while we were at her cabin at the lake in Northwest Arkansas. They’re looking pretty good, if we do say so ourselves. We will definitely share pictures when they are finished, which we hope will be sooner rather than later. Therese is itching to get hers done. We’re glad you were able to tolerate such a chatty group of quilters for two days. I loved seeing the pictures of your black, white, and yellow coneflower and how it is progressing since we saw you. I’ll be back to check in often. Thanks again for a great workshop! I’m sure, without a doubt, that everyone of us in the class would highly recommend the workshop to others. Thanks for sharing your technique!
